International Dance Day

Created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute, International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance. The event takes place every year on April 29th (the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet). The day aims to encourage education and participation in dance through events and festivals held on this date throughout the world.
Since its creation, in 1982, an outstanding dance personality is selected to write a message for International Dance Day. For 2021, the personality selected is Friedemann Vogel (from Germany) who is a ballet dancer.
